Our Work – Our Way

A unique and holistic approach.

Chainless Change is Florida’s first Recovery Community Organization (RCO) that caters specifically to justice-involved people.

We take a two-pronged approach to ending mass incarceration:  Supporting participants and communities through the process of healing from the trauma associated with an arrest record and incarceration while organizing for systems change.

Unlike many other programs, we not only serve and organize individuals re-entering society, but also those who are still detained through our “reach-in” work.

Our hybrid model of combining direct recovery support services with organizing has garnered statewide and national attention. We are actively reducing incarceration and recidivism rates, which improves community health and allows for increased investment in recovery, resources, and genuine ‘second chances.’ Our work empowers those most affected by oppressive systems to lead the charge in dismantling the injustices that are at the root of recidivism, mass incarceration and poor health outcomes.
